One does not have to be a mechanic to operate an engine, proof of which is the fact that many drivers are not aware of what exactly goes on inside the engine compartment.
When we sail, however, we must have a different approach, once we have cast off our moorings we cannot stop at the side of the road and wait for help, we need to change our mentality, it is no longer enough to turn the key and follow the protocol of the scheduled coupons, we need to have a more conscious approach, we need to understand what is happening in the engine room, to know the engine and each of its components, to keep it controlled and maintained. Only knowledge and practice give us the chance to prevent or be able to solve breakdowns at sea.
The course is divided into two parts, one theoretical and one practical. In the first, we will learn what the constituent elements of the marine engine are, how it works, what its accessory parts are, how to maintain it and how to use it in the best possible way; we will acquire the knowledge and terminology necessary to be able to interface effectively with the mechanics who come on board our boats. In the practical part we will be able to put into practice what we have learned, practising on the three engines in the classroom.
With the help of our checklists, we will acquire the correct methodology for checking the engine room before each trip, during navigation and after returning to port.

5. The maintenance indicated by the manufacturers
The fee includes coffe-break and lunch for both course days.
Once the enrolment has been formalised, should the participant cancel for personal reasons, the fee will only be refunded if a replacement can be found. The full fee will be refunded in the event that the course is cancelled for reasons pertaining to us.
